Are Young Aussies Giving Up on Their Property Investing Dreams in Favour of Shares?
Savings.com.au - 23 Jun. 23

More than a fifth of Aussie investors entering markets in the last two years were aged between 18 and 24, according to the latest ASX Australian Investor Study. Mr Gillham - investment expert and chief analyst at Wealth Within also pointed to a plethora of recent events that could be driving younger investors towards equity over property. A decline in housing affordability is almost certainly the most impactful. In recent months, the cost of housing has generally continued rising amid continual interest rate hikes and increasing construction costs...

Why Cocky Investors Should Eat Humble Pie
Money Magazine - 23 Jun. 23

Dale Gillham author and chief analyst at Wealth Within gave his expert opinion to Money Magazine. He said, "We all know that investing is essential to long-term wealth creation, as it can be a very rewarding and potentially lucrative venture. But I was surprised when I was presenting to a large audience of entrepreneurs last week that while some were underconfident, many others were overconfident, which makes me wonder which is better." Being underconfident means the investor is more conservative in their approach, as they prefer to invest in assets that are deemed safe. While those who are overconfident tend to take risks and often fall victim to the illusion of control, as they believe their knowledge, experience or gut feelings can predict the market, which is often not the case...

Market Ends Its Losing Streak
Herald Sun - 17 Jun. 23

The Australian Sharemarket snapped a three-week losing streak to end Friday with its biggest weekly gain in 10 weeks as it tracked positive offshore sentiment. Wealth Within chief analyst Dale Gillham said the bourse had defied logic, having risen this week despite in a technical retreat. "The down move has now lasted eight weeks and while our market may close higher than it opened this week, this would not be enough to signify an end to the current bearishness," he said...

Invest in Shares the Easy Way
Sydney Morning Herald - 05 Jun. 23

It takes an average first-home-buyer couple more than five years to build up a deposit to buy an entry-level home in Australia's capital cities, but there are multiple strategies to accelerate the saving process that don't involve the bank of mum and dad. Dale Gillham, an investing expert and founder of wealth management business Wealth Within, says novice investors should stick to the top 20 shares on the Australian Stock Exchange. "Don't try to be the market wizard, just but the big stocks," he says. "Keep doing it until you've got 8 to 12 stocks in your portfolio of those top 20." Gillham says investors typically receive more in dividend income from shares than they would in interest if their money was in a bank account.

What a Recession Would Mean for the ASX
Money Magazine - 12 May 23

Money Magazine ran an article based on Wealth Within's chief analyst at Dale Gillham, and here is what he had to say about what recession would mean for the ASX "This week economists were predicting that there is an 80% chance that Australia could fall into a recession. This normally evokes fear in investors, as they become more cautious and uncertain about the economy. A recession is generally defined as a period of economic decline, which typically involves lower economic activity, rising unemployment, and falling consumer and business confidence. So how does this affect the stock market? It's reasonable to assume that in recessionary times companies may experience a decline in revenue and profitability, and as such investors may become hesitant to buy stocks. Investors also tend to assume that stock prices will fall as demand for shares decreases and, consequently refrain from buying shares...
