Aussie mortgage holders have been dealt a seventh consecutive rate hike and can expect to pay hundreds more in interest per month, according to Finder. In this month's Finder RBA Cash Rate Survey, 39 experts and economists weighed in on future cash rate moves and other issues relating to the state of the economy. Almost all panellists (97%, 38/39) predicted a cash rate rise in November, with the majority (92%, 35/39) correctly forecasting the increase of 25 basis points – bringing the cash rate to 2.85% in November. Dale Gillham from Wealth Within said the next few months into 2023 will see inflation rise. "The biggest pressure on inflation is energy costs and I do not think we are doing enough to curb this. "While housing costs are somewhat easing, we are seeing rent and interest rates increasing, putting further pressure on households. Now with all the floods, food and other costs will rise," Gillham said...

There Will Likely be Another Cash Rate Hike on Nov 1
Dynamic Business - 31 Oct. 22

Australians will likely experience a harsh awakening when they return from their long weekends in November. For debtors, more suffering is probably in store since 97 per cent of experts predict that the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) will raise the cash rate at its November meeting. Since small business loans are based on external standards, any increase in the repo rate will immediately result in higher borrowing rates for them. Dale Gillham, Chief Analyst at Wealth Within said “The RBA is still predicting inflation to rise slightly into the end of the year. So far, it has not reached its target figure for interest rates to curb this highly inflationary environment. I would expect more rate rises over the coming months...

Finder's RBA Survey: 97% of Experts Predict Another Cash Rate Rise
Finder.com.au - 28 Oct. 22

Aussie homeowners are in for little relief with yet another cash rate hike expected in November, according to new research from Finder. In this month's Finder RBA Cash Rate Survey, 39 experts and economists weighed in on future cash rate moves and other issues relating to the state of the economy. Almost all panellists (97%, 38/39) believe the cash rate will change on Tuesday, with the majority (92%, 35/39) forecasting another increase of 25 basis points – bringing the cash rate to 2.85% in November. While almost half of experts (49%, 19/38) agree with RBA's expected increase of 25 basis points, 1 in 5 (21%, 8/38) disagree with any increase and say the RBA should instead hold the cash rate. Dale Gillham Chief Analyst at Wealth Within advises: "The RBA is still predicting inflation to rise slightly into the end of the year. So far it has not reached its target figure for interest rates to curb this highly inflationary environment. I would expect more rate rises over the coming months....

Bulletproof Your Portfolio by Selling Speculative Stocks
AFR Weekend - 21 Oct. 22

AFR Weekend featured founder of Wealth Within wealth management firm Dale Gillham's expert commentary in their article titled ‘Bulletproof your portfolio by selling speculative stocks’. Investors often make the mistake, Gillham says, of including speculative shares in what would otherwise be a good portfolio. Protection of capital should be your number one goal, and so holding capital in a share that is falling is costing you more than you realise, he says. An investment that loses 50 per cent means it needs to frow 100 per cent to break even. Exiting early in a fall and placing the capital in a share that is rising places you in a far better position...

This Week's Best and Worst Performing Stocks
Money Magazine - 21 Oct. 22

Money Magazine ran an article based on Dale Gillham's market wrap. This is what he had to say - The best-performing sectors include Financials up more than 1% followed by Communication Services and Industrials, which are both just in the green for the week. The worst-performing sectors include Materials and Healthcare, which are both down more than 2% followed by Utilities down more than 1%. The best performers in the S&P/ASX top 100 stocks include The Star Entertainment Group up more than 11% followed by Endeavour Group and Challenger, which are both up more than 6% while Pilbara Minerals is up more than 5%. The worst-performing stocks include Downer EDI and Whitehaven Coal, as they are both down more than 7% followed by Evolution Mining and Block down more than 4%. Right now, the Australian stock market is holding up and the tug of war between the bulls and bears over the past two weeks is fairly equal with no clear direction in price....
